Downtown Denver Location Reopens After Major Renovation

“We're very excited about the changes we've made to our Earls downtown location"

Earls Kitchen + Bar’s downtown Denver location closed its doors in August, the height of the busy summer business, and began a two million dollar renovation. Opening in two stages, the new lower dining room (152 seats) opened in late October, while final touches are being completed on the second floor (162 seats).

On November 20, the doors were opened to the upper floor, crowning the final stage of the renovation and unveiling a beautiful new two story restaurant in the center of downtown Denver.

Starting at the front door, a redesigned entry way will welcome you with a new patio, combining the previous small patios into one. You will be invited into a more open dining room with new design elements and a much lighter color palette that includes white marble, stone and vintage cream tiles. Never just one dimensional, the room is kept warm with light oak and walnut and brass accents. Industrial window treatments delineate space where it’s needed; adding some crispness, and underfoot refinished end grain block flooring keeps organic materials as the base elements in the room.

The spectacular 8,000-square-foot upper level completes the extensive renovation. As with the restaurant’s main bar and lounge, the upper level of Earls has been opened up with partitions removed to showcase the shape of the room. Gone is the conservatory and back bars that blocked the natural daylight and divided up the space. Windows have been exposed and the color palette replaced with lighter, more natural materials. Two private dining rooms, one seating 10 and one seating 40, are also located on the upper floor, available for private parties.

“We're very excited about the changes we've made to our Earls downtown location,” said Wendy Tait Sakich, managing director of design at Earls Restaurants. “ It was already a lovely restaurant, but it was dated. With Denver being such a progressive city, known, not only for its great food, but for excellent design, we felt it was important to update our downtown location.” (Earls has a second location at Park Meadows that was renovated in 2009.)

Offering a full menu of Earls' signature global fare, including great sharing plates, Certified Angus burgers and steaks - and breads baked daily, Executive Chef Jonathan Fraser, or “JJ” as he is known, is looking forward to sharing some of Earls Chef Collective’s newest dishes with you; A Tuna Sushi Cone with tempura crunch, Japanese mayonnaise, pickled ginger and tobiko; BBQ Pork Buns, steamed warm and served with hoisin hot sauce, cilantro and roasted peanuts; Sweet and Sour glazed Crispy Thai Shrimp with Napa cabbage, Thai basil, and cilantro paint. New main plate salads include a Chicken Avocado Salad with baby iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, dry cured bacon, lemon grape seed vinaigrette, croutons and truffle aioli – and speaking of truffles, Truffle Fries are a new addition to the steak and burger sides menu!  New entrees include a Vietnamese Spatchcock Style Chicken as well as fresh salmon dishes.  On the house-made dessert menu, the seasonal Pumpkin Pie is joined by a new Chocolate Hazelnut Bar (73% cacao) served with salted caramel and vanilla bean gelato.

Portland, Oregon native Cameron Bogue, Earls beverage director, has chosen almost exclusively Denver and Colorado beers to showcase on the taps, and has created a selection of unique, handcrafted cocktails for the fall and winter menu.  The bars have also undergone a behind the scenes renovation with a new barrel-fresh wine-on-tap program full of interesting and value-packed wine selections.

For those returning guests there will be lots of familiar faces, and a few new ones, with all staff with us at closure returning. A majority of them are just back in Denver following an exciting opportunity to open the newest Earls Kitchen + Bar in Boston, Mass. Staff have also moved over from other Earls Denver locations and, with the increased seating, there will be 50 new faces in the restaurant and behind the scenes in the kitchen .

Earls Kitchen + Bar Glenarm and Park Meadows are open from 11:00 AM until late daily, with Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Brunch from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays.
